Resurfacing of Bosmansdam Road in Edgemead
22 May 2023
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate wants to advise road
users and businesses of roadworks along Bosmansdam Road between the N7 and
Edgemead Drive in Edgemead. If all goes as planned, the scheduled work will
start this week and will take place between 09:00 and 15:30 during weekdays,
until 26 May 2023.
Traffic travelling in both directions of Bosmansdam Road will be affected and surrounding residents may also expect a level of noise while the works are under way.
The scope of the work entails:
- Installation and re-alignment of stormwater channels
- Removing the existing asphalt surfacing and replacing the old surface with hot-mix asphalt
- Reinstating the road markings
'I ask that residents in the area cooperate and be patient with our team over the next two weeks as we complete the work along Bosmansdam Road. I understand that this is a very important and busy link road to the N7 and Koeberg Road. It is therefore essential that we ensure the road infrastructure is well maintained. I advise that motorists please consider using alternative routes over this period,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
